Specifically, last month, as many as 55,800 Vietnamese travelled to Japan, the highest monthly figure recorded so far.

During the January-February period, 107,300 Vietnamese entered Japan, up 43.5 percent against the same period in 2019, the highest growth rate among source markets for the East Asian country.

In 2023, JNTO will focus on building relationships and cooperation with travel companies, airlines, and media channels while promoting digital marketing and Japan's image via the Viet Nam-Japan Festival and events to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the two countries' diplomatic relations.

The above orientations will serve to quickly restore the number of Vietnamese tourists coming to Japan to the pre-pandemic levels.

In 2022, more than 284,000 Vietnamese toured Japan, accounting for 7.4 percent of the total volume of international visitors served by Japan.

Meanwhile, in the first 10 months of 2022, 120,000 Japanese visited Viet Nam, making Japan the 4th leading source market of Viet Nam./.
