Vietnamese Prime Minister wraps up tour to Brazil
VGP - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on July 8 left Rio de Janeiro for Ha Noi, successfully concluding his tour to Brazil where he attended the BRICS Summit.

Over the course of three-day tour, the Prime Minister participated in 40 intensive and back-to-back engagements, leaving a strong impression and making significant contributions to the success of this year's BRICS Summit.
Together with 35 leaders and representatives from BRICS member states, partner countries, and invited guests, Pham participated in extensive and substantive discussions on key global issues such as strengthening multilateralism, economic and financial cooperation, artificial intelligence, environmental protection, preparations for COP30, and global health.
The outcomes of the 2025 BRICS Summit are expected to foster effective cooperation and address sustainable development challenges faced by emerging economies.
In his remarks, Pham emphasized the need to boost multilateral collaboration and reaffirmed the vital role of developing countries in the global governance system. He put forward several practical and impactful proposals reflecting the priorities and interests of developing nations—covering health care, environmental protection, climate change adaptation, and pandemic resilience.
Pham also called for addressing broader global concerns, including the reform of international financial institutions, promotion of South–South cooperation, responsible use of artificial intelligence and technology for sustainable development, and ensuring equitable access to financial, technological, and healthcare resources for developing countries.
On the sidelines of the Summit, Pham held numerous bilateral meetings and exchanges with heads of state, government leaders, and senior officials from various countries, as well as with business representatives and international partners.
Especially, the Prime Minister had a bilateral meeting with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, during which the two leaders agreed to double efforts to advance bilateral ties within the framework of the Strategic Partnership between the two countries.
Marking an important step in economic cooperation, Brazil exported its first shipment of beef to Viet Nam, while Viet Nam sent shipments of Tra fish (pangasius), basa, and tilapia to Brazil—further enhancing trade and delivering tangible benefits to businesses and citizens of both nations./.
