Vietnamese Prime Minister inspects flood-hit communes in Dien Bien province
VGP – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Sunday toured Na Son, Tia Dinh, Xa Dung communes of the northern province of Dien Bien to learn about progress on disaster relief and the extent of damage.

At these communes, Prime Minister Pham visited families severely affected by floods and landslides and frontline rescuers.
Following the inspection tour, Prime Minister Pham presided over a meeting on flood control and disaster relief. Local authorities reported that landslides killed 10 people and injured 12 others while damaging 554 houses.
Addressing the meeting, Pham extended his deepest condolences to the bereaved families, urging all-out efforts to treat people injured, stabilize life in flood-hit areas, and restore production.
He decided to provide VND200 billion and 100 tons of rice to help Dien Bien overcome the consequences of natural disaster.
Pham also instructed local authorities to mobilize resources to help promptly rebuild 80 fully destroyed houses and repair 241 severely damaged houses.
The Prime Minister tasked the Viettel Group and the Viet Nam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) to expeditiously fix telecommunication signal loss to ensure smooth communication to remote communes.
The Government chief also urged the Electricity of Viet Nam (EVN) to assist Dien Bien in restoring power grid in the affected communes./.
