Vietnamese Poetry Day honors poetic heritage and great national unity
VGP - The 22nd celebration of Viet Nam's Poetry Day will be held at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel on February 23-24 (or the fourteenth and fifteenth day of the first lunar month of the Year of the Dragon).
The main event of Poetry Day will take place on the full moon day of January (February 24).
The discussion, "From the poet's bravery to his identity", will occur in the morning. It will be chaired by poet Nguyen Binh Phuong, Vice President of the Viet Nam Writers' Association, with the participation of many poets, scholars, and literary criticism theorists to explain the relationship between bravery and identity of poetic creative work.
The evening is the poetry night, "Country Harmony".
The poetry night consists of 4 parts. Part one is the performance and reading of poetry by authors in the Northern region. Next is the participation of international poets in exchanging and reading poetry. Part three is performing and reading poetry by authors from the Central Highlands and Southern regions. The last part is called "The Lasting Echoes".
Vice President of the Viet Nam Writers Association, Tran Dang Khoa shared that this year's Poetry Day honors Viet Nam's national poets, with the participation of poets from both mountainous and lowland areas.
This year's Poetry Day space is inspired by the theme "Country Harmony" with the spirit of great national unity.
According to President of the Viet Nam Writers' Association Nguyen Quang Thieu, the event will bring to the public valuable heritage in the poetic treasury of all 54 ethnic groups across Viet Nam, typical works of Vietnamese poets about nature, places, and people of all the ethnic groups.
At the event, people can learn more about poets and poems and participate in contests or activities that introduce young, famous poets and their works./.
