However, the inspection frequency at border gates for instant noodle imported from Viet Nam remains at 20 percent, according to the Commission Implementing Regulation 2024/1662 issued on June 11.

The EU's move came as a result of relentless efforts by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, other relevant authorities and businesses in strengthening the quality and safety of instant noodle exports to the EU, said Vietnamese Trade Counselor in Belgium and the EU Chan Ngoc Quan.

The EU has also adjusted inspection regulations for other farm produce imported from Viet Nam. For dragon fruit, inspection frequency at the border has been increased to 30 percent from 20 pểcnt. Chili peppers have been moved from Annex I (50 percent inspection frequency) to Annex II (50 percent inspection frequency with food safety cẻtificates and test results for residual pesticide residues in the product).

Meanwhile okra remains at a 50 percent inspection frequency with food safety certificates and test result for residual pesticide residues in the product and inspection frequency for durian stays at 10 percent./.
