Vietnamese literature brought to the world through a new angle
VGP – The 2nd International Conference to Introduce Việt Nam Literature was opened this morning in Hà Nội, drawing the participation of over 300 delegates from 32 countries.
According to Poet Hữu
Thỉnh, President of the Việt Nam Writers’ Association, the Conference will help
foreign translators, researchers and publishers to have a better understanding
of the history and values of the Vietnamese literature. This will be the good
foundation to design plans on introducing the Vietnamese literature to the
world systematically through a new vision in the context when Việt

The conference is also expected to be a good chance for
cultural
and literature exchanges and stronger solidarity between
Delegates will focus their
discussions on four topics, namely ancient Vietnamese literature, modern
Vietnamese prose, temporary Vietnamese poem and young Vietnamese writers.
Many foreign translators
and writers who have made great contributions in bringing Vietnamese literature
to the world presented themselves at the conference, including Kevin Bowen,
Lady Borton, Bruce Weigle, and George Evans.
