The event took place on the sidelines of the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits and Related Summits in Vientiane, Laos.

The participants discussed measures to strengthen connectivity, including infrastructure and transport connectivity to facilitate trade and investment, increase economic recovery capacity, and promote policies that can withstand economic shocks and ensure sustainable growth, especially empowering the private sector, and encouraging participation and investment from ASEAN businesses in regional development initiatives.

The Prime Ministers appreciated the position, role, and importance of businesses as well as the ASEAN BAC and briefed about cooperation orientations for mutual development, especially in areas such as food security, digital transformation, infrastructure connectivity, development of industrial parks and key economic zones.

Representative of ASEAN BAC said, in 2024, the council has come up with many ideas to promote economic cooperation, including projects to support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, enhance digital transformation and sustainable development.

Addressing the event, the Vietnamese leader said, the tradition of solidarity and mutual assistance between the three nations is a valuable asset and a foundation for developing cooperative and trustworthy relations.

The tripartite cooperation mechanism has been formed and implemented effectively, making practical contribution to consolidating relations between the three countries, he said.

During a meeting on October 9, the three leaders emphasized the need for strategic breakthroughs in economic-trade-investment cooperation among the three countries commensurate with their political relations and the potential and strengths of each country.

Prime Minister Pham hailed the theme "ASEAN: Enhancing Connectivity and Resilience" of the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summit, expecting that the business communities of the ASEAN countries will continue cooperating and supporting Viet Nam, Laos, and Cambodia to improve their economic linkages./.
