VietJet orders for 20 Airbus A321XLR planes
VGP - VietJet Aviation and aircraft manufacturer Airbus on October 31 signed a contract for 20 brand-new A321XLR aircraft that the budget carrier hopes will support its international expansion as Viet Nam’s aviation market heats up.

VietJet CEO Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao said Thursday’s order will “modernise VietJet’s fleet as we look to strongly grow our international flight network.”
The airline currently flies to destinations including Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, China, and India.
VietJet expects the first aircraft to be delivered in 2023, adding that it will be the “first carrier in the world” to operate the new long-range version of the single-aisle A320neo family jets. With a range of up to 8,700km, the innovative model will serve Vietjet’s fleet modernisation and international flight network expansion plans in the coming time.
With this latest contract, Vietjet’s total order with Airbus reaches 186 aircraft with the first A321XLRs to be delivered to the airline from 2023.
The next evolutionary step on from the A321LR, the A321XLR model responds to market needs for even more range and payload, creating more value for the airlines.
