Vietjet launches new routes to Australia
VGP - Vietjet has opened new routes connecting Perth and Adelaide cities of Australia with Ho Chi Minh City - the biggest economic engine of Viet Nam.
The new services, which commenced on November 21, make Vietjet the first airline to have flights from Viet Nam to Australia's five largest cities, namely Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide.
With five return flights per week each, the new routes will make it more convenient for people to travel between the most dynamic city in Viet Nam and the major cities in Australia, said a Vietjet representative, adding that the carrier will operate 58 flights from/to Australia per week from December this year.
More Vietnamese and Australian visitors are coming in both directions.
In the first quarter of 2023 alone, nearly 82,000 Australian visitors arrived in Viet Nam, an increase of 14.4 percent as compared to 2019, whereas the number of Vietnamese visitors to Australia made up 10 percent of the outbound visitors.
Many Australians have chosen Viet Nam as their favorite destination because of low costs in comparison with other countries or others have migrated to Viet Nam with their families to live and do business and make investment.
Vietnamese visiting Australia do so because of some linkages with the country such as kinship or a return to the place where they once studied.
There are more than 300,000 Australians of Vietnamese background, and approximately 80,000 Vietnamese men and women have studied in Australia./.
