Viet Nam’s GDP growth accelerates to 8.22% in 3rd quarter

VGP – Viet Nam’s GDP growth accelerated to 8.22 percent in July-September period, said Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang.

The Vietnamese economoy expanded 7.96 percent in second quarter and 6.93 percent in the first quarter this year.

In January-September period, the Southeast Asian nation’s GDP grew 7.84 percent, the minister told Cabinet meeting on Sunday morning.

Agriculture and service sector maintained positive growth momentum despite heavy impacts caused by recent storms while industrial production increased by around 10% in the 3rd quarter and 9.92 percent in the first nine months.

The Government targets to raise GDP growth to over 8 percent in 2025, paving the way for double-digit growth in the next five years./.
