The construction of the school was started in June under the joint management of the Viet Nam Women's Union (VWU) Central Committee and the Investment and Trade Consultancy Company Limited.

Covering an area 1,036 square meters, the facility has three classrooms, one kitchen and two functional rooms, meeting the teaching for about 100 children.

The work, which helps reduce emissions of 115 tons of plastic, sends a strong message on protecting the environment.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Chairwoman of the VWU, Ha Thi Nga, hoped that there will be more similar works for children in mountainous, remote and extremely difficult areas.

Such schools will not only bring happiness to children and their parents in disadvantageous locations but also convey a significant environmental message, she commented.

Ha believed that this green school model will be multiplied widely not only in Lao Cai but also in other localities across the country in the future.
