The national tally includes 1,908,353 locally transmitted cases recorded from April 27, 2021 since the fourth COVID-19 wave hit Viet Nam.

The same day, the ministry reported 89,842 recoveries, taking the total number of recovered cases to 1,590,090.

The ministry also announced further 212 fatalities, bringing the nation’s COVID-19 death toll to 34,531, or 1.8 percent of the total infections.

The nation has administered 161,277,807 COVID-19 vaccine doses, an increase of 1,248,099 doses from Sunday./.
