Viet Nam wins Asian rowing golds
VGP — Vietnamese athletes secured four gold medals from the Asian Rowing Championship which closed in Thailand on December 4.

Pham Thi Hue and Dinh Thi Hao won the women's coxless pair event. They finished first with a time of 8min 24.64sec. They left behind Wang Ting Ting and Zhang Xuan of China and Kim Min-young and Jeon Seo-yeong of South Korea.
Quartet Pham Thi Thao, Ho Thi Ly, Dinh Thi Hao and Luong Thi Thao bagged the second gold for Viet Nam in the women's lightweight quadruple sculls, clocking 5:35.70.
Teams from Thailand and Iran came second and third, respectively.
Pham Thi Ngoc Anh, Le Thi Hien, Ha Thi Vui and, Du Thi Bong left Chinese and Hong Kong behind in the women's coxless four event. They came first after 7:30.11.
Later, Tran Thi Kiet, Ho Thi Ly, Nguyen Thi Giang and Pham Thi Hue triumphed in the women's quadruple sculls category in a time of 7:12.80.
China and Indonesia claimed silver and bronze, respectively.
Vietnamese athletes also secured two bronzes in the women's lightweight double sculls and double sculls.
The team finished second in the medal tally.
China took the top place, winning four golds and five silvers. The third place went to Hong Kong which claimed three golds, two silvers and one bronze.
In the junior competitions, Vietnamese rowers bagged one gold and five silvers. The only gold belonged to Ho Thi Duy the women's single sculls event.
The continental championship, held at the Royal Thai Navy Rowing Centre in Ban Chang City, lured strongest Asian athletes. Among them, competitors from 10 countries and territories brought home medals./.
