Viet Nam-U.S. Friendship Heritage Day
VGP - Viet Nam and the U.S. have decided to choose September 2 as the Viet Nam-U.S. Friendship Heritage Day.
The proclamation on the day was given to Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang by Mayor of San Francisco London Breed during the Vietnamese official's visit to the U.S. in late August.
At a ceremony to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the National Day of Viet Nam (September 2) at the Vietnamese General Consulate in Houston, Le affirmed that Viet Nam's development journey has always been marked by support from partners around the world, including the U.S.
She highly appreciates the U.S.' continued support for a strong, independent, self-reliant and prosperous Viet Nam.
The Deputy Minister also reviewed the great achievements that Viet Nam has achieved after 79 years, and the impressive achievements in Viet Nam-U.S. relations, especially since the two countries upgraded their ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2023.
The same occasion, she attended a Flag Raising Ceremony to celebrate Viet Nam's National Day at San Francisco City Hall.
At the ceremony, Le asserted this is a clear demonstration of the friendly relations between Viet Nam and the U.S., in general, and with San Francisco, in particular./.
