Viet Nam, UK sign cooperation agreements
VGP - Representatives from Vietnamese and British ministries, agencies, localities, and major business giants have signed a series of cooperation agreements.

The signing ceremonies took place during the Viet Nam–UK High-Level Economic Conference held in London on October 30 on the occasion of General Secretary To Lam's official visit to the UK.
The agreements between the two governments and ministries cover a broad spectrum of areas, including mutual administrative assistance in customs, development of green finance, funding for key projects in Viet Nam, cooperation on international financial center development, international bond issuance, clean energy partnership, clean energy and grid transition, disaster risk reduction partnership framework, and a technical assistance project on sustainable transition and climate change adaptation.
Locality-to-locality and organization-level deals include a friendship cooperation pact between Ho Chi Minh City and Liverpool, an investment certificate for the Castrol Gogoro Mobility joint venture in Viet Nam's electric motorbike sector, an agreement on the development of maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facilities at Van Don Airport, and a collaboration on satellite design and manufacturing in Viet Nam.
Among the standout corporate agreements are an export credit financing deal for renewable energy projects by the Viet Nam National Industry-Energy Group (Petrovietnam) and its affiliates; continued cooperation with the UK-based charity Facing the World to deliver medical training and humanitarian surgeries in Viet Nam; a US$25 billion contract for 100 Airbus A321neo aircraft, with options for 50 more; and a US$3.8 billion agreement with Rolls-Royce for engine maintenance and spare Trent 7000 engines for Vietjet's A330neo fleet.
Other notable pacts include a £500 million (US$660 million) comprehensive strategic partnership to improve access to new medicines, support clinical trials, and transfer vaccine manufacturing know-how; training programs for Vietnamese professionals in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS); and cooperation in AI-powered English education, AI-based national examinations, and the establishment of Ardingly College-branded international boarding schools in Viet Nam.
Tech giant FPT also signed a strategic partnership with Chelsea Football Club to leverage its digital and AI expertise in supporting the club's digital transformation — enhancing fan engagement, optimizing business operations, and advancing technological innovation. Additional agreements encompass research and development in integrated seaport–airport–logistics complexes, natural fragrance and green chemical production, and information sharing in lottery operations./.
