Viet Nam treasures multi-faceted relations with UAE: Vice President
VGP - Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan paid a courtesy call on President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on May 3 as part of her visit to the Middle Eastern country to attend the 2023 Global Summit of Women.
The UAE's President affirmed that the UAE regards Viet Nam a crucial partner in the Asia-Pacific region, expressing his wish to foster the relationship with the nation across sectors.
For her part, Vo reiterated that Viet Nam attaches importance to the friendship and multi-faceted relations with the UAE - the top economic, trade and investment partners of Viet Nam in the Middle East.
To soon realize the trade goal of US$10 billion in the near future, she called on the two countries to encourage their enterprises to take part in investment and trade promotion activities and make it easier for the export of each side's advantageous items.
She emphasized the need for both sides to commence talks on a comprehensive economic partnership agreement (CEPA) in a bid to complete legal framework for stronger economic cooperation.
At the meeting, both sides discussed measures to bolster collaboration in all areas with a view to upgrading the bilateral relations to a new height.
They agreed to give priority to promoting delegation exchanges at all levels, particularly high-ranking ones and supporting each other at international and regional forums and organizations.
The two leaders vowed to organize people-to-people exchange activities and artistic and cultural performances, especially on the occasion of the 30thanniversary of diplomatic ties.
They expressed their delight on the positive achievements in economic ties over the recent years, with the annual two-way trade turnover of over US$5 billion.
The host and the guest pledged to enhance cooperation in other potential areas such as petroleum, renewable energy, logistics, agriculture and halal products./.
