Viet Nam to levy low-value imports from February 18
VGP - Viet Nam is set to impose duties on imports valued under VND1 million (US$40) sent via express delivery from February 18, 2025, the Government has decided.

The move was made as e-commerce has rapidly developed in Viet Nam over the recent years, prompting the tax authorities to expand tax revenue base, ensure fair competition between domestic and foreign goods, and stimulate domestic production.
Under current regulations, imports valued under VND1 million sent via express delivery shall not be subject to import duty and value-added tax./.
