Viet Nam to increase State's expenditure on education to at least 20%
VGP – Viet Nam will increase State’s annual expenditure on education and training to at least 20 percent of the total State spending volume, according to a resolution issued recently by the Politburo.

Viet Nam targets to rank among the world's top 20 education system by 2045
The Government will formulate a national target program on modernizing and improving the quality of education and training for the 2026-2035 period.
The Government will also expand financial and credit support programs to ensure that no student has to stop learning due to financial constraint.
The State shall exempt land use fees, reduce land rental fees and land levy on domestic educational establishments.
Corporate income tax shall be exempted for public educational establishments and nonprofit private educational establishments.
Strong mechanisms and policies shall be put in place to encourage organizations and enterprises to invest in education and training development.
By 2035, the proportion of students studying basic sciences, engineering and technology is expected to reach at least 35 percent, including at least 6,000 postgraduate students and 20,000 students studying in talent programs.
The human capital and research index contributing to the global innovation index (GII) is on par with that of upper-middle-income countries.
The number of international scientific publications is projected to increase by 12 percent annually while the number of patent registrations and patent protection certificates by 16 percent per year.
The education and training sector wills trive for at least 8 higher education institutions to be in the top 100 universities in Asia, and at least one higher education institution to be in the top 100 universities in the world.
By 2035, Viet Nam targets to complete universal secondary education and to raise the human capital and research index contributing to the GII to reach above the average of upper middle-income countries.
The Southeast Asian nation will strive for at least two higher education institutions to be among the top 100 universities in the world in a number of fields according to prestigious international rankings.
