In 2023, the Prime Minister approved a plan to build at least one million social houses for low-income earners and workers at industrial zones across the nation in the 2021-2030 period.

Addressing the event, Pham said the country has deployed 692 social housing projects, with a total of 633,559 apartments. Of these projects, 146 projects have been completed, providing 103,717 units while 144 projects with 127,261 units are underway.

In addition, 402 projects have been approved for investment, totaling 402,581 apartments, he added.

The plan to build one million social houses is of significant importance as it aims to ensure human rights, the right to housing, and equal access to housing for citizens in accordance with the Constitution and the law, especially for the poor, low-income individuals, those in difficult circumstances, and vulnerable groups, the Prime Minister stressed.

It serves as a driver of development, contributing to growth, creating jobs and livelihoods for the people, and making efficient use of resources such as land, natural resources, minerals, and human capital, noted Pham./.
