The above figure is part of the ongoing 500-day campaign to search for, recover and identify remains of fallen soldiers, as the country prepares to mark the 80th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day in 2027 (July 27).

As of June 22, authorities had recovered 1,255 martyrs' remains out of a target of 7,000 set out in the campaign

DNA-related samples had been collected from 12,127 graves lacking identifying information, out of an estimated 230,000.

The Ministry of Public Security had analysed approximately 53,000 DNA samples and integrated nearly 18,000 results into a national database.

So far, the identities of 25 martyrs have been successfully confirmed and returned to their families./.
