Viet Nam targets to have first outlet model by 2030
VGP - Viet Nam targets to have first outlet model by 2030, according to a plan on developing outlet models through 2030, with a vision to 2045.

An outlet is a retail model bringing together multiple brands, where manufacturers or distributors sell products directly to consumers at prices appropriate to the characteristics of the model.
Goods sold at outlets may include surplus inventory, products with minor defects, or goods manufactured specifically for outlet sales.
The development of outlets is expected to follow approaches in line with international practices, while ensuring effective State management of trade and contributing to the prevention and combat of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods.
Under the plan, during the 2030-2045 period, outlets are envisioned to be developed in three regions-northern, central and southern Viet Nam-with at least one model in each region.
The plan aims to provide training and enhance the capacity of at least 5,000 officials, civil servants and businesses involved in the management, operation and development of outlets by 2030.
Vietnamese goods and products are expected to account for at least 30-40 percent of goods at pilot outlet models.
By 2030, at least 10 groups of "national gift" products are targeted to be developed for sale at outlets, with priority given to products bearing national brands, five-star One Commune One Product (OCOP) products, outstanding rural industrial products and pioneering Vietnamese-made products.
Outlet development is envisioned in areas with strong purchasing power, tourism potential and transport connectivity. In the North, the Ha Noi-Mong Cai, Ha Noi-Lao Cai, Nhat Tan-Noi Bai and Ha Noi-Hai Phong expressway corridors have been identified as potential areas.
In the southern region, development is oriented toward the Ho Chi Minh City-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway and areas near Long Thanh International Airport in Dong Nai Province. In the central region, potential locations include the coastal corridor connecting Da Nang with Hoi An.
The plan calls for research into developing outlets in major coastal and island tourism destinations with large land reserves and located near integrated resort complexes, such as Cam Ranh in Khanh Hoa province, Phu Quoc in An Giang province, and free trade zones./.
