The suspension of manpower export to to Middle East will until curent military conflicts are put under control.

Vietnamese guest workers are mainly living and working in Middle East countries such as Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait, according to the Department.

As the situation in the Middle East is forecast to evolve in a complex manner, the Department is closely coordinating with competent agencies and Vietnamese diplomatic missions abroad to closely monitor the development of the situation and promptly take necessary measures to ensure maximum safety for migrant workers..

Manpower exporters are required to maintain regular contact and exchanges with partners and employers to update information on the conflict situation; proactively adopt measures to ensure the security, safety, and lawful rights and interests of workers when necessary; encourage workers to remain at their workplaces, avoid panic or anxiety, and stay informed so they can actively cooperate in ensuring safety and security.

At the same time, enterprises must maintain regular contact with Vietnamese diplomatic missions and labor management boards under Vietnamese embassies in the Middle East to promptly update the situation of workers in their respective areas.

In case any incidents arise relating to security, safety, or the lawful rights and interests of workers, manpower exporters must urgently coordinate with partners, employers, and relevant parties to promptly address the matter and report to the Department of Overseas Labor Management for guidance when necessary.

Manpower exporters are also required to regularly monitor and update official information from competent authorities and international security advisories in order to proactively implement plans to ensure workers' safety.

Statistics showed that over 10,000 Vietnamese guest workers are residing in the Middle East with nearly 6,000 people in Saudi Arabia; about 4,000 others in UAE, 500 in Qatar and 100 in Bahrain.

Spokesperson of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) Pham Thu Hang said Viet Nam is deeply concerned about the complicated and escalating conflict in the Middle East, which poses a grave threat to the lives and safety of civilians, as well as to regional and global peace and stability.

The MoFA advised Vietnamese citizens not to travel to Iran or Israel at this time, or to neighboring areas affected by the conflict unless absolutely necessary.

Vietnamese nationals currently in Iran, Israel, and conflict-affected neighboring zones must maintain regular contact and closely monitor updates from Vietnamese representative missions in the two countries.
