Viet Nam, South Korea to chart orientations and visions for future of bilateral ties
VGP - South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol's visit to Viet Nam from June 22-24, 2023 is significant as it is made in the first year of the two countries' comprehensive strategic partnership, said Korean diplomat.
South Korean Ambassador to Viet Nam Oh Young Ju made the above statement in an interview on the thresholds of the upcoming Viet Nam visit of President Yoon.
Ambassador Oh said this will be an occasion for Vietnamese and Korean leaders to chart orientations and visions for the future of the bilateral ties.
It will also be an opportunity for them to reach consensus on an action plan to effectively materialize the comprehensive strategic partnership established in 2022.
Oh said South Korea will engage in discussions and exchanges with Viet Nam to further boost comprehensive cooperation in various spheres such as economy, security, culture, people-to-people exchange and official development assistance.
The Ambassador affirmed that President Yoon's Viet Nam visit will carry forward another important message, which is the continued determination of both countries to enhance their relationship for a better future that brings benefits to their people, with a focus on the promotion of people-to-people exchanges.
Yoon will be accompanied by a sizeable delegation of 205 Korean enterprises, indicating the fact that economic cooperation will still remains the key pillar of the bilateral ties.
Bilateral cooperation has expanded from mainly production and manufacturing to new areas such as climate change, environment, digital transformation, smart city development and energy transition.
The diplomat said the visit is also expected to help further boost cooperation in diplomacy, defense, culture as well as coordination at multilateral forums in order to contribute to peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and the world./.
