The two leaders made the above announcement while co-chairing a press briefing in Seoul on August 11 to share the outcomes of their summit meeting.

General Secretary To described the meeting as "highly successful," noting that political trust between the two nations has been continuously strengthened. Cooperation in all fields has become more substantive and effective, while people-to-people exchanges have grown increasingly vibrant, he said.

President Lee welcomed the visit by To Lam in his capacity as General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee, saying both sides held in-depth discussions on recent developments in respective countries, bilateral cooperation, and regional and international issues of mutual concern.

The leaders stressed that under the spirit of the Viet Nam–South Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, both sides agreed on major directions to advance bilateral ties in the coming years.

They reaffirmed their commitment to facilitating trade and market access for each other's goods, with the aim of raising two-way trade turnover to US$150 billion by 2030.

Both sides were unanimous in spurring collaboration in strategic transportation infrastructure, energy infrastructure, digital infrastructure, and climate change adaptation projects./.
