Viet Nam sets up National Election Council
VGP – Legislators on Wednesday approved a Resolution on the establishment of the National Election Council.

The 19-member Council shall be led by the Chairman of the National Assembly.
The Council is responsible for organizing the national elections to select deputies to the 16th Legislature and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 tenure.
The 16th NA's first session must convene no later than 60 days after the election date, while the newly-elected People's Councils are required to hold their inaugural sessions within 45 days.
