Viet Nam seeks NVIDIA's support for sovereign AI development
VGP - Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung called on NVIDIA-the world's largest chip manufacturer-to support Viet Nam in developing sovereign AI.

The suggestion was made on September 23 during the Deputy Prime Minister's seminar with Vice President of Solutions Architecture and Engineering at NVIDIA Marc Hamilton, Director, Enterprise Business in the Operations department at NVIDIA Dennis Ang and Vice President of System Software at NVIDIA Steven Truong.
Nguyen called on NVIDIA to assist Vietnamese partners in promote AI applications across all sectors of the economy and build national-level AI solutions.
He also suggested NVIDIA help the Vietnamese Government to perfect legal framework on AI, with an immediate task of drafting an AI Law which will be submitted to the National Assembly at its upcoming 10th session.
Nguyen urged NVIDIA to strengthen cooperation with Vietnamese universities, research institutes, and startups in research and human resource training for the Southeast Asian nation.
He asked NVIDIA to boost collaboration with the Viet Nam National Innovation Center to develop AI startup ecosystem through incubation programs, AI application support, and connecting AI startups with venture capital funds.
In December last year, the Vietnamese Government and NVIDIA signed a landmark cooperation agreement in an effort to concretizes the high-level vision on cooperation in science, technology, and innovation reached during President Joe Biden's visit to Viet Nam in September 2023./.
