VGP – The Ministry of Health confirmed additional 13,889 COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, raising the national patient tally to 1,694,874.

The national tally includes 1,689,194 locally transmitted cases recorded since April 27 when the fourth COVID-19 wave began.

The same day, the ministry reported 38,260 recoveries, taking the total number of recovered cases to 1,302,542.

The ministry also announced further 245 fatalities, bringing the nation’s COVID-19 death toll to 31,877 or 1.9 percent of the total infections.

The nation has administered 148,198,862 COVID-19 vaccine doses, an increase of 811,888 doses from Tuesday./.
