Viet Nam ranks second in the world for enthusiasm for travel: Survey
VGP - Vietnamese tourists are the second most optimistic in Asia-Pacific about traveling post Covid, with 85 percent planning a trip in the next 12 months, a survey found.
The Southeast Asian nation is only behind India (86 percent), according to the Travel Confidence survey by American online travel agency Booking.com that polled 11,000 travelers in 11 countries and territories across the region between April and May.
The survey found that 62 percent of Vietnamese tourists plan to make one to two trips this year and 45 percent wish to visit famous tourist destinations near Viet Nam with a three-to-eight-hour flight time.
Noticeably, up to 82 percent of surveyed Vietnamese respondents said they felt happy as Viet Nam reopened its border to international tourism and lifted most COVID-19 travel restrictions.
The biggest concern of Vietnamese travelers for now is high travel costs (53 percent), quarantine rules (36 percent), the possibility of contracting Covid-19 (32 percent) while traveling and suddenly changing Covid entry regulations (31 percent).
A Ha Noi motorbike tour and Hoi An cooking class have been named among the 25 best travel experiences in Asia by readers of U.S. travel site Tripadvisor.
Viet Nam's domestic aviation market is recovering at the fastest rate in the world with growth of 123 percent against pre-pandemic times, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam said.
