Hoang affirmed Viet Nam consistently pursues its foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation and development, diversification and multilateralization of external relations.
Viet Nam firmly upholds its "Four Nos" defense policy and is committed to resolving all disputes and disagreements via peaceful means on the basis of international law.
Viet Nam's principled stance on the East Sea issue is that all parties involved must adhere to international norms and law, particularly the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), comply with the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC) and work towards the early conclusion of negotiations for a substantive and effective Code of Conduct in the East Sea (COC), Hoang stressed.
He expressed satisfaction at the positive results in the implementation of the bilateral defense cooperation agreement signed in 2010, notable in such areas as delegation exchanges, especially high-level visits, training, United Nations (UN) peacekeeping, and defense industry.
He also emphasized that the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense stands ready to welcome military personnel from Poland to study the Vietnamese language at the Military Science Academy and participate in international courses at the Viet Nam National Defense Academy.
Hoang suggested both sides focus on consolidating and strengthening frameworks and mechanisms for bilateral defense cooperation and promoting all-level delegation exchanges to enhance mutual understanding, trust, and defense ties.
Additionally, he urged both sides to foster collaboration in training, UN peacekeeping, defense industry, military medicine, and exchanges between young officers of the two countries' armies.
He expressed gratitude to Poland for granting scholarships to Viet Nam and called for Poland's continued support for defense cooperation activities between Viet Nam and the European Union (EU) under the framework of the signed agreements.
The host also called on Poland to support the EU's removal of "yellow card" warning against Vietnamese seafood exports as soon as possible.
Bejda, for his part, reiterated that Viet Nam is an important partner of Poland in Southeast Asia. Therefore, Poland seeks to strengthen ties with Viet Nam not only in economic sector but also in defense, particularly in defense industry, training, and UN peacekeeping.
The same day, Bejda paid a courtesy call on Vietnamese Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang./.
