Viet Nam, Mozambique promote stronger agriculture ties
VGP - Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Quoc Tri has freshly and his Mozambican counterpart Olegário dos Anjos Banze in Maputo discussed bilateral farming projects and future cooperation orientations during their recent meeting in Maputo.
Deputy Minister Nguyen told his host that the two countries had coordinated to research and develop food crops, with Viet Nam sending many experts and technicians to support Mozambique.
He hoped such joint work would be expanded based on each nation's agricultural strength for mutual growth.
On his part, Deputy Minister Olegário dos Anjos Banze thanked Viet Nam for assisting Mozambique in not only farming but also education, health and telecommunications and lauded the effective support of Vietnamese experts.
He wished to learn more from Viet Nam's agricultural experiences, particularly in processing cashew products, building and managing irrigation and drainage systems, and making use of available food crops to produce animal feed and develop the dairy industry.
Nguyen affirmed that Viet Nam is willing to assist and share experiences with Mozambique in terms of farming, processing, production, commercial product development, and the improvement of product quality based on the three important factors of irrigation, varieties and farming methods.
Additionally, he noted that farming cooperation was an important topic of the event the fourth meeting of the Viet Nam-Mozambique Intergovernmental Committee.
Also at the meeting, the two deputy ministers presented souvenirs of high-quality agricultural products from each country./.
