The index highlights increased access to visa-free or visa-on-arrival travel for Vietnamese passport holders.

In the second quarter of this year, Viet Nam's passport moved up from 91st to 84th place, enabling holders to access 51 out of 227 countries and territories without a visa, or with simplified entry such as e-visas, electronic travel authorization, or visas on arrival. This includes all ASEAN member states and countries like Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Iran.

This is regarded as one of the most significant leaps for Viet Nam in the 20-year history of the Henley rankings.

Over the past 19 years, Viet Nam's passport ranking has fluctuated between a high of 78 and a low of 94. While the current 84th position is moderate, it reflects a clear upward trend over the past two years.

The ranking is conducted based on exclusive data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), which maintains the world's largest and most accurate database of travel information, combined with Henley's own algorithm./.
