Viet Nam-Japan ties is typical model of relations
VGP - Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son attended a ceremony to celebrate the 64th birthday of Japanese Emperor Naruhito in Ha Noi on February 23.
On the occasion, Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong sent a congratulatory message to the Japanese Emperor.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue telegraphed messages of greetings to Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio and Speaker of the House of Representatives Nukaga Fukushiro and President of the House of Councillors Otsuji Hidehisa, respectively.
Addressing the ceremony, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son hailed significant milestones in the bilateral relations in 2023, particularly the upgrade of the ties to a "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World".
The Viet Nam-Japan relationship is a typical model of success between Viet Nam and partners, noted Bui.
Japan is currently Viet Nam's largest source of official development assistance, second largest labor importer, third investment and tourism partner, and fourth biggest trading partner, added the diplomat.
The foreign minister reiterated that both sides' leaders and peoples are determined to foster cooperation in traditional sectors such as economy, politics, culture, education-training, labor, people-to-people links and local-to-local exchanges.
Both sides will expand collaboration in new spheres of emission reduction, semiconductor, clean energy, digital transformation, and green transformation as well as enhance stronger ties at international and regional forums and organizations, stated Bui.
The strong development of Viet Nam-Japan relations becomes a bright spot in international relations amid fast-changing world, he said, expressing his belief that the bilateral relations will be further strengthened, contributing to peace, stability and development in the region and the world.
