The two sides realized that there is big room for the further development of bilateral economic, trade and investment ties, especially in infrastructure construction, education, healthcare, light industry and communications.

PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng said Việt Nam attaches importance to strengthening comprehensive cooperation with Italy, and proposed the European country continue to give Việt Nam ODA, especially to the fields of environment, healthcare, and small and medium enterprise assistance.

Mr. Dũng also hoped that Italy would fund the 16th replenishment of the International Development Association (IDA 16) in order to help least-developed and developing countries.

PM Berlusconi stated that Italy treasures the enhancement of multifaceted cooperation with Việt Nam.

More and more Italian firms and people are interested in Việt Nam, wanting to do business and strengthen cooperation with Vietnamese partners in such fields as education, culture, science and technology, he said.

PM Berlusconi also confirmed Italy’s support to Việt Nam’s developing ties with the EU and European countries.
