VGP - Brazilian President Lula da Silva reiterated that Viet Nam is a crucial partner of Brazil while hosting a reception for Vietnamese Ambassador to Brazil Bui Van Nghi on January 31.
The Brazilian leader hailed the fruitful development in the bilateral ties, expecting to strengthen collaboration with Viet Nam in fields of politics-diplomacy, economics-trade, agriculture, science and technology.
The two-way trade value reached nearly US$7 billion in 2023, he noted, proposing both sides maintain balanced trade.
The Brazillian President expressed his wish to soon pay a visit to Viet Nam.
Bui, for his part, expressed his honor to carry out his task as a Vietnamese Ambassador to Brazil, committing to doing his utmost to promote the Viet Nam-Brazil comprehensive partnership in a more practical and effective manner.
He vowed to make efforts to boost economic, trade and investment ties in commensurate with the political ties, especially realizing commitments in the Joint Communiqué that was issued on the occasion of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's official visit to Brazil in September, 2023.
The diplomat pledged to enhance close coordination with Brazil to organize events marking the 35th anniversary of diplomatic ties and 17th anniversary of comprehensive partnership between the two countries this year./.
