Viet Nam, Indonesia to accelerate ratification of EEZ demarcation agreement
VGP – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Indonesian President Joko Widodo agreed to accelerate the ratification of the agreement on exclusive economic zone (EEZ) demarcation, thus contributing to bring practical benefits to their peoples.
During their meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on October 20, the two leaders also pledged to actively work together to foster cooperation and realize the signed agreements between the two countries.
They agreed to task relevant ministries to negotiate and sign an agreement on rice trade and expand export of farm produce to each other's markets.
Prime Minister Pham congratulated Indonesia on its success in holding the ASEAN Chairmanship 2023.
The two leaders agreed to continue close coordination at regional and international forums, especially the United Nations and ASEAN, as in regional and international issues of shared concern.
The same day, Prime Minister Pham met with Cambodian counterpart Hun Manet who is expected to pay an official visit to Viet Nam in the near future.
At the meeting, the two Prime Ministers agreed to effectively realize the agreements signed by the two countries, step up economic cooperation and connectivity, support each other in building an independent and resilient economy, and create more favorable conditions for their enterprises to invest in each other countries.
Prime Minister Pham took the occasion to convey the greetings of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Nguyen Phu Trong and other senior Vietnamese leaders to to the Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni, Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk, Chairman of the Cambodian People's Party Samdech Techo Hun Sen, and other senior Cambodian leaders./.
