To noted that this is his third meeting with the French President over the past three years, describing this as a particularly significant milestone that reflects the high level of political trust and close ties underpinning Viet Nam-France Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
He congratulated France on the successful organization of the International Space Summit, stressing that space is a strategically important domain for countries' security and development today.
Viet Nam highly values the discussions at the summit on space security and space economy, which contribute to shaping rules and regulations governing outer space, promoting scientific research and space exploration, advancing technological development, and encouraging greater youth participation in space science, underlined the Vietnamese leader.
Viet Nam is accelerating economic development and transforming its development model, making science and technology a key driver of growth, while focusing on building strategic infrastructure, developing the energy sector and strengthening high-quality human resources, told the guest.
These are areas in which France has considerable strengths, said To Lam, adding that there remained vast room for the two countries to explore and develop cooperation in the years ahead.
Viet Nam and France should make fully utilize their respective strengths, leverage their complementarities, reposition strategic areas of cooperation at a higher level, and establish new frameworks for bilateral cooperation, suggested To Lam.
Meanwhile, Macron expressed his belief that the Vietnamese leader's ongoing visit would help consolidate new achievements in bilateral cooperation, building on the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership established in 2024.
He congratulated the two countries on the agreements recently signed by their ministries, sectors and businesses, saying that these agreements demonstrated the vitality of the bilateral ties.
In the face of challenges to the international trading system, the two sides need to remain committed to supporting the implementation of the European Union-Viet Nam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), said Macron.
The forthcoming ratification of the European Union-Viet Nam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA), he noted, would open up new prospects for cooperation.
The host also affirmed France's desire to become a leading partner of Viet Nam in such areas as energy, transport infrastructure, urban development, artificial intelligence and innovation./.
