Viet Nam expresses 'deep concern' over situation in Venezuela

VGP – Viet Nam expresses 'deep concern' over reports on the current situation in Venezuela, said Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang on Saturday.

January 04, 2026 8:48 AM GMT+7

Viet Nam calls on relevant sides to respect international law and the United Nations Charter, including the principle of respect for national sovereignty and the principle of non-use of force or threat of force, she said.

Viet Nam also calls on the relevant parties to exercise restraint, settle disputes and differences on the basis of international law, contributing to ensuring peace, security, stability, and cooperation in the region and the world as well.

Given the tense situation in Venezuela, the Foreign Ministry said Vietnamese citizens should carefully consider travelling to Venezuela at this time.

Vietnamese nationals in Venezuela should leave dangerous areas, regularly update information and strictly comply with travel instructions of local authorities and the Foreign Ministry.

For assistance, Vietnamese nationals should contact the Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela at +58 212 635 7402, or vnemb.ven@mofa.gov.vn; and the Consular Department at +84 981 84 84 84 or baohocongdan@gmail.com./.
