Viet Nam-Cuba Intergovernmental Committee holds 39th meeting

The sides reviewed cooperative outcomes in 2021 and agreed cooperative contents for 2022.
The bilateral trade value hit US$105 million over the first 11 months of 2021, up 2 percent compared to the same period last year.
Despite COVID-19 outbreaks, Viet Nam has made efforts in maintaining rice export to Cuba, helping the nation to ensure food security and social stability.
So far, both sides have basically completed the signing of debt restructuring agreements between Cuban enterprises and Vietnamese firms.
Cuba provided five million doses of Abdala vaccine for Viet Nam and is enhancing cooperation with Viet Nam in research and development of vaccines against COVID-19 and meningococcal disease.
The two nations have organized on-site and virtual meetings to exchange experience in health, biotechnology, construction, information technology, finance, banking, justice, culture, sports, tourism, education, science and technology.
The two Ministers inked the Minutes of the 39thmeeting of the Viet Nam-Cuba Intergovernmental Committee on economic, science and technology cooperation.
Both sides pledged to promote close coordination and effective implementation of agreements and MoU to foster each country’s socio-economic development and Viet Nam-Cuba comprehensive cooperation.
Within the framework of the meeting, the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism signed a Memorandum of Understanding on culture with Cuban Ministry of Culture.
