Viet Nam collects US$76.7 million in taxes from foreign service providers
VGP - Foreign cross-border service providers paid taxes worth VND 1.8 trillion (US$76.7 million) to Viet Nam, according to the General Department of Taxation.
Specifically, Facebook owner Meta Inc paid US$37.5 million; Google, US$28.8 million; and Apple, VND174 billion (US$7.4 million) through a portal via which foreign service providers can declare and pay taxes online to Viet Nam.
So far, 45 foreign service providers have registered to declare and pay taxes through the portal which was launched eight months ago.
The tax revenue showed foreign service providers’ strict compliance with Viet Nam’s law on e-commerce and online business in the Southeast Asian country.
As of the end of 2022, the total tax revenue collected from foreign service providers totalled VND 3.4 trillion (US$144.9 million)./.
