Viet Nam approves action program to implement ASEAN Connectivity Strategic Plan

VGP - The Vietnamese Government has approved an action program to implement the ASEAN Connectivity Strategic Plan in Viet Nam for 2026–2035 period.

The action plan will serve as a basis for ministries, agencies and relevant bodies to coordinate in implementing ASEAN connectivity.

The ASEAN Connectivity Strategic Plan is envisaged to connect ASEAN by enhancing the physical, institutional, and people-to-people linkagesacross the region, and support the realization of the ASEAN CommunityVision 2045, through six Strategic Areas:

(i) Sustainable Infrastructure;

(ii) Smart and Sustainable Urban Development;

(iii) Digital Innovation;

(iv) Seamless Logistics and Supply Chain;

(v) Regulatory Excellence and Cooperation; 

(vi) People-to-People Connectivity.

The six strategic areas are interconnected and shall be pursued in aholistic manner, which allows greater synergy and coordination acrosssectors and with the ASEAN Community Pillars, as well as in support ofnarrowing the development gap goals, where relevant.
