So far, Viet Nam has received more than 8 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines from other countries and partners, including 4.5 million doses through the COVAX Facility, 2 million doses donated by the United States, 3 million doses from Japan, 500.000 doses by China and 1.000 doses donated by the Russian Federation.

Partners have also pledged to continue providing vaccines for Viet Nam in the time to come. Notably COVAX Facility will distribute an additional 1 million doses, the United States pledged 3 million additional doses through COVAX Facility, Romania committed to donate more than 100.000 doses and Australia announced a donation of 1.5 million doses.

In addition, countries such as India, the United Kingdom, Australia, Cuba or Germany, among others, have made specific commitments on providing aid and prioritizing cooperation in the area of technology transfers for Viet Nam.

Viet Nam has also received meaningful support from UNICEF, Laos, Japan, Korea, Australia, Germany, Cambodia, and Saudi Arabia in terms of equipment, medical supplies and resources for pandemic prevention.

These precious support and donations, received from the beginning of the crisis, have helped the Vietnamese people to overcome various waves of the pandemic, contributing to the success of the country in the fight against COVID-19.

Given the context of complicated developments of the pandemic, as well as the emergence of new variants representing a high danger and faster transmission rate, the Government of Viet Nam has identified having quick access to different vaccine sources as a priority of high importance.

The Government deployed the greatest vaccination campaign in the country’s history with, to this day, 4 million people having already received their 1st dose and more than 300.000 others having been fully vaccinated./.
