VGP – Deputy Foreign Minister Do Hung Viet has been appointed as Viet Nam's next Ambassador, Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York.

General Secretary and President To Lam handed over the appointment decision to Do at the Presidential Palace in Ha Noi on Friday.

Do, aged 47, was promoted to the role as Deputy Foreign Minister in December 2022 from his previous position as Assistant Foreign Minister and Director-General of the Department of International Organizations under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The same day, the top Vietnamese leader also handed over decisions to appoint Viet Nam's next Ambassadors to Cambodia, Singapore and Ukraine.
