Viet Nam always sees Russia as one of major and trusted partners
VGP – Vietnamese Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son affirms that Russia is among top important and trusted partners of Viet Nam, during his meeting with Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Moscow on Tuesday.

He affirmed that the Vietnamese Party, State, and people always keep in mind and appreciate the wholehearted support and assistance that the Russian people have offered to Viet Nam during the past struggle for national liberation and reunification and the current renewal process.
Lavrov spoke highly of the first official visit to Russia by minister Bui, affirming that Viet Nam is a very important partner in his country’s foreign policy.
The two ministers noted with pleasure at the dynamic development of the Viet Nam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership despite difficulties posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
For the time to come, they agreed that both countries will strengthen the exchange of delegations at all levels and across channels, further expand and deepen cooperation in all fields, especially defense and security, and fully tap the potentials of the Viet Nam-Eurasian Economic Union free trade agreement.
The pair also agreed to focus on implementation of key joint energy and petroleum projects while expanding bilateral cooperation in new and renewable energy.
The two ministers discussed and shared views on regional and international issues, pledging to continue enhancing coordination at multilateral organizations and forums, particularly the United Nations and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), as well as in responding to non-traditional security challenges such as epidemics, water security, climate change, and cyber-security.
They affirmed support for ASEAN’s centrality in an evolving regional architecture and underscored the importance of upholding and seriously complying with international law, including the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region./.
