The deal aims to boost travel between the two countries in the context of strong recovery in international tourism.

This is the first cooperation agreement between Viet Nam Airlines and a foreign tourism agency.

It took place on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties and 10th anniversary of the establishment of Viet Nam-Singapore strategic partnership.

Both sides will work together to launch marketing campaigns to promote new and unique travel experiences of Singapore and Viet Nam Airlines for Vietnamese tourists.

Viet Nam is among top 10 biggest sources of international arrivals in Singapore with 280,000 visitors over the first seven months of 2023, up 123 percent compared to the same period last year.

In the pre-pandemic period (before 2019), the number of Vietnamese arrivals to Singapore witnessed annual growth of 13 percent.

Meanwhile, Singapore is a key strategic market of Viet Nam Airlines in Southeast Asia.

Since the first flight between the two nations was launched 30 years ago, the carrier has served over 7 million passengers to and from the two countries.

Currently, it is operating 35 flights per week between Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City and Singapore./.
