This event holds special significance as it coincides with the 30th anniversary of the normalization of Viet Nam–U.S. diplomatic relations and marks the third year since the two countries established the comprehensive strategic partnership.

It represents a major step forward in realizing important agreements, including the high-level agreement between the Governments of Viet Nam and the U.S. on cooperation in science, technology, and semiconductors signed in September 2023 and the agreement between the Government of Viet Nam and NVIDIA inked in December 2024.

Addressing the event, Nguyen said, the "Viet Nam AI Academy" is a model example of cooperation among the three pillars—Government, academia, and enterprises—reflecting a multidimensional approach to developing high-tech human resources.

This model should be expanded, as the program not only creates learning and technology access opportunities for tens of thousands of students but also closely integrates training, research, and application, he noted.

It fosters synergy between Viet Nam's leading university (Ha Noi University of Science and Technology), the world's largest technology corporation (NVIDIA), and the core of the national innovation ecosystem (Viet Nam National Innovation Center NIC).

The Deputy Prime Minister called on NVIDIA to continue implementing activities to train high-quality human resources, conduct research, transfer knowledge, and develop a team of Vietnamese AI experts meeting international standards.

In particular, he emphasized the need to expand the "Viet Nam AI Academy" model nationwide as soon as possible, especially in Viet Nam's major innovation and startup hubs such as Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang.

He also urged for expanding of effective investment and business cooperation, strengthening the role of NVIDIA's R&D Center in Viet Nam, leveraging and employing Viet Nam's high-quality workforce and enhancing collaboration with NIC as well as research institutes and universities across the country to build a comprehensive and sustainable innovation ecosystem.

Earlier, in December last year, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh witnessed the signing of an agreement between the Vietnamese Government and NVIDIA on the establishment of an AI research and development center and an AI data center in Viet Nam.

President and CEO of NVIDIA Jensen Huang spoke highly of Viet Nam's resources, and committed to making Viet Nam "the second home" of NVIDIA. With a strategic vision and mutual respect and trust, NVIDIA stands ready to accompany Viet Nam on its journey to build a leading AI research and development center in the Asia-Pacific region, asserted Huang.

The same day, Nguyen attended the inauguration ceremony of the Viet Nam Space Museum at Ha Noi's Hoa Lac High-tech Park./.
