Viet Nam-ADB partnership should focus on new fronts
VGP - Viet Nam and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) should focus their partnership on such key areas like climate change and strategic infrastructure works and new fronts like semiconductor chip, digital economy, green transformation, sharing economy, circular economy, and private sector development.
Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh made the above statement at a grand ceremony held in Ha Noi on Wednesday to mark the 30 years of Viet Nam-ADB partnership.
Pham said he will assign a Deputy Prime Minister to direct the improvement of legal framework to speed up progress of ODA projects.
He also suggested Viet Nam and ADB set up a joint working group to clear obstacles arising in the implementation of ADB-funded projects in the Southeast Asian country.
Pham took the occasion to express thanks to international friends and partners for their valuable support and assistance for Viet Nam over the past decades.
For ADB, the Government chief appreciated the multilateral development financing institution's active and effective assistance for Viet Nam, particularly in such fields like poverty reduction, healthcare development, education, transport infrastructure development among others.
ADB has inspired other partners to provide assistance for Viet Nam, making significant contributions to the achievements that Viet Nam has gained throughout its course of reform, international integration and sustainable development, emphasized Prime Minister Pham./.
