US $4 mil. to improve supervision over macro-policy
VGP – The NA Economic Committee and the United Nations Development Program just co-launched the Project on increasing capacity of assessing, verifying and supervising macro-economic policies.
Out of US $4 million for the project, the UNDP finances US $3.6 million.
Under the project, key activities include training courses, policy
surveys and dialogues, expansion and institutionalization of agency-to-agency
coordination.
Accordingly, 10 seminars and dialogues on policies, 14 surveys, 7
training courses, and a study tour abroad will be organized.
The project aims at bettering the drafting and implementation of
macro-economic policies for the poor.
UNDP Country Director Setsuko Yamadaki stressed that better
macro-economic policies are the key to stories of economic success.
The two sides also signed an Action Plan for 2010 as part of the project
which will be carried out within 2010-2014.
