According to the Road and Railway Traffic Police Division of Ha Noi, the typhoon killed one person and injured five others in Ha Noi's outlying Phu Xuyen district.

A number of areas in the city were flooded while hundred of trees fell down.

The typhoon also triggered power outages in Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Ha Nam, Thanh Hoa and Ninh Binh provinces, and floods and landslides in mountainous provinces.

Flights have been rescheduled and canceled on the morning of July 28 as typhoon Mirinae made landfall in the north provinces, causing heavy rains in Hanoi and other provinces the previous night, according to the Viet Nam Airlines Cooperation.

Eight flights from the national flag carrier Viet Nam Airlines and eight others from Jetstar Pacific Airlines were delayed from taking off at Noi Bai International Airport while other six Vietnam Airlines flights coming to Hanoi have been suspended temporarily.

Viet Nam Airlines representatives said Noi Bai airport started resuming operation, but departure time for flight to/from the airport on the morning of July 28 may be adjusted, resulting in fighting plans at other airports.

Flights to/from Cat Bi in the northern city of Hai Phong, Tho Xuan in the central northern province of Thanh Hoa and Vinh in the central province of Nghe An are operating as normal.
