About 12.6 million international tourists visited Viet Nam in 2023, a 3.4-fold rise from 2022, surpassing the target of 8 million set earlier, the General Statistics Office (GSO) reported.
The nation welcomed 1.5 million foreign arrivals in January, a year-on-year increase of 73.6 percent and equal to the pre-pandemic period in 2019.
For 2024, the country targets to serve about 17-18 million international travelers, and 110 million domestic ones.
In the most ideal condition, if Viet Nam manages to attract 18 million foreign arrivals, the tourism industry could be said to fully recover to the record level of 2019./.
