Politburo appoints new Chairman of Central Organization Commission

Nguyen Duy Ngoc will replace his predecessor Le Minh Hung who was elected by the National Assembly as new Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam on April 7.

Born in 1964 in Hung Yen Province, Nguyen Duy Ngoc holds a Master's degree in Law. He is a member of the CPV Central Committee for both the 13th and 14th tenures, a Politburo member for the same terms, and a deputy to the 16th National Assembly.

He has spent much of his career in the public security sector, where he held several key posts, including deputy director of Ha Noi Police, Deputy Head of the General Department of Police, Director of the Police Department for Corruption, Economic and Smuggling Crimes Investigation, and Deputy Minister of Public Security.

He was subsequently appointed Chief of the Office of the CPV Central Committee, before being elected to the Politburo and serving as Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission in January 2025.

In November 2025, he was assigned by the Politburo as Secretary of the Ha Noi Party Committee for the 2025–2030 term.

The Central Organization Commission functions as an advisory body to the CPV Central Committee, directly assisting the Politburo and the Secretariat on issues related to Party building, organizational structure, personnel affairs, and internal political protection.

The commission's leadership currently comprises eight members. As head of the commission, Mr. Ngoc is assisted by seven deputy heads: Hoang Trung Dung; Do Thanh Binh (concurrently serving as Minister of Home Affairs); Nguyen Huu Dong (also Chairman of the National Assembly Committee for Deputy Affairs); Trinh Manh Linh; Nguyen Thanh Tam; Bui Thi Quynh Van; and Nguyen Thanh Binh.

New Chief of Office of CPV Central Committee named

The Politburo also appointed Minister of Justice Nguyen Hai Ninh as Chief of the Office of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) Central Committee.

Nguyen Hai Ninh, a member of the CPV Central Committee, will replace his predecessor Pham Gia Tuc who was confirmed by the National Assembly on April 8 as Deputy Prime Minister.

Born in 1976 in Hung Yen Province, Nguyen Hai Ninh holds a doctorate in law. He has been a member of the CPV Central Committee over multiple terms, serving as an alternate member during the 12th tenure and as a full member in the 13th and 14th tenures.

He began his career as a specialist in the General Affairs Department of the Central Commission for Internal Affairs, and went on to hold a range of positions at both central and local levels./.
